Hang in there. Irritable bowel syndrome can be common. It’s just a matter of watching your diet and stress levels when it gets bothersome.

A friend of mine was diagnosed with Crohn’s last fall. She was literally debilitated and lost an incredible amount of weight. I won’t even mention the “toilet issues” she told me about. (bleah!) She finally ended up having to take medical leave from work because she couldn’t function.

However… she’s doing much better now. She’s on meds and a special diet and feels much better (functional). She can’t drink or smoke anymore either, but not like that’s a bad thing.

Plus, she lost weight and looks great. Not a diet I’d recommend to anyone, tho.

Odds are, you’d be a lot sicker if you had something like Crohn’s than just having a sensitive stomach.

And tit for tat, when I was finishing up my undergrad I had horrible prostatitus and when I was going to have surgery I called my mother and she said, “Is your prostate swollen because you were the woman when you’re with your boyfriend?”

No.

As far as I and my proctologists know, there is no correlation between any medical condition that causes irritation and one’s top/bottom preferences. Though certainly, sex can cause the irritation, which I don’t think is remotely the issue here.
