It was Genet who said that Navy Whites were "the most erotic garment ever devised." Do tell, Michelle!

The climax (in every sense of the term) of my memoir-in-progress, Raised by Hand Puppets concerns a late-afternoon-stretching-into-evening I spent with a sailor in the Rambles some 38-odd years ago. He was the most sublime exhibitionist I've ever known.

Ah Fleet Week!

Movies designed for the occasion: On the Town, Querelle, Lola, and Decision Before Dawn with Bill Williams resplendent in his Navy Whites.
