The Tin Man

Idiot Quote of the Month

Idiotic quote of the month, for a whole bunch of reasons:

“If great intellectual powerhouse is a qualification to be a member of the court and represent the American people and the wishes of the American people and to interpret the Constitution, then I think we have a court so skewed on the intellectual side that we may not be getting representation of America as a whole.”

- Former Senator Dan Coates, who is shepherding Harriet Miers through the Senate confirmation process.

Wow, I can’t believe anyone would say such a thing. But doesn’t that just sum up the Bush administration?

Wow. Roman Hruska lives.

I would call this some kind of Orwellian version of affirmative action, except that idiots have always been amply represented in all three branches of government.

Shouldn’t Ms. Miers, who while representing idiots clearly isn’t one herself, be insulted? That rictus grin beneath unlifted features must be getting difficult to maintain.

Well, he has a point. I think the most recent Presidential election was the clear statement of the American people saying, “We need a larger number of morons in positions of power.”

WOW!! That really sums it all up – and great comments there, Jess and iMark!

I’ll repeat what everyone else has said: oh wow.

Lord, why don’t they just nominate ME and get it over with?

Well, has anyone nominated Andy yet? If not, I will.
