The Tin Man

RIP John Spencer

R.I.P. John Spencer. I can’t believe he was only 58.

I wonder how The West Wing will handle this.

Stunning news. What I kept wondering was: was he in that three years ahead flash forward segment at the start of the season? If so, that makes dealing with his plot even harder.

I don’t think he was, though. And since I hear they already finished filming the season, then I think perhaps they can write around it and create a plot about a vice presidential crisis. Well, another plot, that is.

I was shocked to hear of his death. He was terrific. I liked him both in the roles he played and when we met him a few years back.

As for the show, I think this may eventually be the last straw. Either that or they’ll need to re-work it in a major way. What’s left of the cast probably can’t carry it without John Spencer’s Leo. In any event, that’s secondary. I’m just sad that an actor I respect and person who, at least from our brief meeting, seemed quite nice has passed away.
