I checked Merriam-Webster and Dictionary.com and they don't say that a review is necessarily a formal document (except in the case of a military evalutation) or even something that needs to get published anywhere. *One* of the definitions from Princeton is a formal or official examination, but there are others that aren't formal. There's peer review and consumer review... I guess the only time I'd see your point is if someone just said "that movie sucked" and called that their review, rather than their opinion. When you evaluate something, you have to explain more... Hmm… Are you sure about that definition?
