I agree. I removed mine a little while ago when someone called me saying when they go to my blog, it was redirecting them to sitemeter. (The hell?)

I second statcounter. I’ve been using the free version for months and it’s great. It tells me pretty much everything I want to know about my tens of readers. ;-)

I hate it when they take something perfectly fine and turn it into something completely useless!

I hope the owners are smart enough to switch it back to the old sitemeter. But I’ve switched to statcounter just in case they’re not. :/

Mint seems really rather well designed and although it’s not free, it’s only a fraction of the cost of Sitemeter, seeing as it’s $30 one-time. There’s also Google Analytics, which is free.
