		<description>Party chairs in the US don&#039;t really seem to do much but appear as talking heads on news programs occasionally, and that&#039;s probably largely because our parties are really pretty pathetic in terms of organization and discipline (although the Republicans are better than the Democrats in this regard).

Contrast this with the parliamentary model, in which the chair of the party is either the Prime Minister or the Leader of the Opposition depending on election results.</description>
