Nice, enjoy! I finally bought my first Mac in 2004 (iBook), then an iMac in 2008, and have been happy with them. (Though I’m not purely Apple… I’ve pretty much retired the iBook, and my machine for portable, medium websurfing needs is an Acer netbook.)

After sleeping on it, I think I need to thank pupdadco.

I was very close to committing to deprive myself for months to save up for a Mac. However, if I bought one I would be associating with a clique of pretentious jerks who think they are special because they have enough disposable income to buy fancy toys and lord it over everyone else. Why would I want that?

You just saved me maybe $800 days untold month eating nothing but ramen.

Ok, it’s bullshit like this that makes me hate Macs. I want one because they’re beautiful machines, but I resent this crap that some people apparently think owning one makes them superior. It doesn’t.

We’ll have to teach you the secret Mac handshake, which you will have to use to have a private session with Steve Jobs…plus you should get your “Mac Owner ID card” that lets you cut every line everywhere…a perk not many people know about…

Ah, the $1200 model!

Still out of my range (damn, I miss credit cards!).

Plus, I just bought a nice brand new monitor two months ago, and I can’t just justify throwing that away. I guess maybe I could get a Mac Mini but a.) that wouldn’t be the same and b.) that’s still more than I can afford.

Why do these things have to be so bloody expensive?

$2400!! Jesus. I could never pay that much for a computer. He must have bought the Mac Pro. I bought the new low-end 21.5″ model with the 3.06GHz i3 processor and 500GB hard drive. “Low end” is relative when it comes to Mac prices… but my company gets me a small corporate discount on Apple products, so that helped a little.

I am so fucking jealous. I want a Mac so badly, especially since my computer died on Saturday. Motherboard is fried. My friend Mark just paid $2400 for a Mac and it is beautiful.

But I will never be able to afford one. :(
