The Tin Man

Southern Weekend

We returned last night from our long weekend in the South with Matt’s family. It was lots of fun.

One way to sum it up is: wedding barbecue with Hawaiian shirts and leis in Opelika, Alabama; a visit to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga; dinner at a house filled with Disney memorabilia; an addictive card game.

Another way to sum it up is: Hardee’s, Dairy Queen, Golden Corral, Wal-Mart, another Wal-Mart, Chick Fil-A.

And now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to the gym.

How was the aquarium? You know I love them. And, how on earth did the Tennessee Aquarium end up with the URL “tennis.org”?

Mmmmmmm. Chick-Fil-A. I miss it so. Also, Waffle House. I would kill a man for some Waffle House goodness.

I love Golden Corral.

That’s all I got.

P.S.- Chick Fil-A is a right-wing xtian organization that is closed on Sundays and pressures its employees to attend church. But yeah, I’d kill a man for a Chick Fil-A sandwich.

It doesn’t appear Tin Man went to a Waffle House from that description, although given his UVa background, I’m sure he’s familiar.

My favorite Waffle House reference ever is the Onion’s headline: “Mason-Dixon Line to Be Renamed IHOP-Waffle House Line”. So true. And since one of the old stone markers making the line is literally 1 minute from my house, I can get to both chains easily.
