The Gores Split Up

Wow — Al and Tipper Gore are separating after 40 years of marriage.

For some reason this makes me really sad.

You aren’t the only one- when I read this earlier today it really made me feel hopeless. I mean- 40 years? It would take a lot to decide to dump 40 years of marriage, I would think.

Maybe they just weren’t happy together any more. Their kids are grown so there is no obligation to third parties involved. Why shouldn’t they go their separate ways if that’s what they both want?
